I want to feed my dog homemade chicken and brown rice. Any advice?

I am tired of feeding him canned dog food. It is crap and expensive. I can't afford to feed him the really good canned food so he gets the crap and much of the time he does not eat it. So I made a big batch of boneless chicken and brown rice. But he does not seem to want to eat all the rice. Advice please.I want to feed my dog homemade chicken and brown rice. Any advice?
BUY A BAG OF HARD DOG FOOD, IT WILL LAST A WHILE!

%26amp; HE WILL EAT THE REST OF THE RICE IF HE IS HUNGRY. JUST LEAVE IT IN HIS BOWL. (=

RICE %26amp; BONELESS CHICKEN IS GOOD FOR THEM %26amp; WILL ALSO HELP HIM GAIN WEIGHT IF YOU WANTED HIM TO. BUT THAT COULD ALSO GET EXPENSIVE.

Just try the hard dog food %26amp; give him the bonless chicken %26amp; rice every now %26amp; then for his health (=

HOPE I HELPED..I want to feed my dog homemade chicken and brown rice. Any advice?
To keep your dog safe, don't EVER put seasoning on the chicken no matter how much you think it would be tastier for your dog, it's very dangerous and could be fatal. Also, the rice can't have any seasoning on it either. As for him not wanting it, dogs are creatures of routine and he probably is wondering why there is some weird food in his food bowl. Switch foods slowly.
You are right that canned food is ';crap'; and expensive! But chicken and brown rice- and nothing else- is not a balanced meal for a dog.

You need to do more research on canine nutrition if you are going to try to prepare your own pet food! Improper nutrition will cause all sorts of health problems for your dog, and I am sure you don't want that!

Also- catering to your dogs whims will tend to make him a picky eater. Dogs do not need to eat twice a day- or even every day. You need to teach your dog to eat his meals when offered.

We always counsel pet owners to offer their pet a small meal (smaller than what you would normally expect them to eat) and give them 10 minutes to finish it. If they eat it, give them a little more. If they don't eat it- pick up the bowl and do not offer them anything else until their next meal time

Try looking into a high quality kibble, with all of the nutrition that your dog needs for his age and activity level, and just use the chicken and rice as a treat over the top of the dog food
My dog never eats the rice. We've tried the whole not feeding him until he eats it.. He doesnt eat it.

You can leave the rice there and wait but most likely he wont touch it

Also really mixing the chicken into the rice. so it has the chicken flavour. Wil most likely make him eat it..

My dog doesnt eat canned food because he doesnt like it. He eats only those dog sausages %26amp; dog buiscuits. So definitely grab some of those.

dogs love chicken. So try the chicken flavoured one.

God bless x
Well, as you know it is very hard to make i do not know every day new food for dog even you want to cook it is hard and disgusting and as you know if you feed your dog with home made food with fix formula my be after some months occur some problems and problems ..... . i thing it is better to use dry food for your dog it is economic and easy to digest and is every where available and has vitamins and minerals that necessary for him. GOOD LUCK.
well that would be a good thing to feed an old dog. that has bad teeth. you didn't specify how old your dog is. other wise if its teeth are fine you should keep it that way. feed him dry food it helps clean there teeth and keep them strong and healthy. caned food should only be feed if the dog is really young and cant eat hard food. or if its really old and cant eat hard food.
Where is the nutrition in that diet? You would be better off buying a cheap bag of dog food and feeding him that.
i would feed it beff
its very good for them just make it thicker
