Do you have any advice on how to land a Waltz Jump?

What kind of stretches/exercises could I do and how many times a week? Plz help! =]Do you have any advice on how to land a Waltz Jump?
Start by holding your landing position for at least 10 seconds to strengthen your legs. DEFENITELY practice on the floor A LOT. if i didn't, i probably would have never landed my axel! do stretches like trying to touch the floor, opening up your legs on the floor and reaching for one side at a time, squats to strengthen the leg muscles and lunges across the floor. and also try jumping straight up 2x, arms tucked in then come out into landing position. I hoped i helped and good luck!Do you have any advice on how to land a Waltz Jump?
Assuming that you are a counter clockwise skater (righty) do some powerful left over right back x-overs and then hold your right back outside edge with your free leg extended and left arm in front, right arm to the side (your arms should make an L position). This is your landing position - the stronger you can make this position the easier it will be to 'hit it' when you land. The hardest part of this position is extending the free leg while keeping the skating leg bent.
I completely agree with the person above. I don't think there is anything they missed.

Does anyone have any advice on how to repair a credit rating?

I am in dire need to repair my credit rating and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I could go about doing that?Does anyone have any advice on how to repair a credit rating?
Quit using your damn credit cards!Does anyone have any advice on how to repair a credit rating?
if you have bills past due right now or if you have any type of credit start making payments each month for the full minimum amount. the longer you can go without having a 30, 60, or 90 day late payment the better. this shows everyone that you are now starting to be able to make payments ok.

if you don't have credit then you may have to look for a company that is willing to lend you a small amount and then make sure you always pay that loan each month.

fixing credit just takes time. there is no solution that will work overnight.
Pay all your outstanding debts off as soon as possible by making payments above the minimum. Once they're down to zero, use one of your credit cards to make purchase, but them off as soon as the bill arrives. Don't wait for the payment due date. Yes, this takes a while unless you have access to funds that don't need to be repaid, ever, which you can use to pay off the outstanding debts and start right away on the second phase.

I've bookmarked this site...

People I need your advice which name do you like better for my daughter Analicia Marie or Chlo茅 Lee ?

I don;t know if this helps but her nationality is Irish,French %26amp; Italian.People I need your advice which name do you like better for my daughter Analicia Marie or Chlo茅 Lee ?
I don't especially like Analicia. It looks a bit made up. But the sound ';flows'; well, especially with Marie, and there's no danger people will mispronounce it. I'd go with Analicia Marie, of your two choices.

The accent mark on Chloe is wrong. If there were one it would be an 毛 ....Chlo毛. But nobody does that. Your accent mark would mean, ';klo-AY.'; But the name is pronounced ';KLO-ee.'; And KLO-ee lee just doesn't flow well to me.People I need your advice which name do you like better for my daughter Analicia Marie or Chlo茅 Lee ?
Chloe. It's cute and easier to say for her friends when she gets into preschool. Plus Analicia may get shortened to Ana. If you are okay with the shortened version then go for it. But I have always loved the name Chloe.
Chlo茅 Lee is beautiful. She'll thank you for that name one day.

Please, don't do ';Analicia';, I knew a girl in school with this name, she was the biggest B!tch ever!
I love Analicia, a lot! But Marie is really plain.

I like Chloe, but it's more of a dogs name.

I say go with Analicia,
Analicia Marie..that's really beautiful and its flows together so well..honestly it sounds like a pretty girl name!!
I dont like Chloe with Lee, because Chloe already has an e sound

Analicia Marie is very pretty
I like Analicia Marie. Why? I think it sounds very pretty, like music..
i love Analicia Marie
What about Chloe Marie or Maria :) ?

Cute names.
Chlo茅 Lee. Sounds better to me.
I like both names...but....how about Ever Marie? compliments to me and my friend if you like it....

Would you give me advice for traveling to Egypt ?

I plan to travel to Egypt on March. Do you know reasonable and comfortable hostel or hotel in Cairo , Aswan , Abu-Simbel and Lu-xor ? And , if you have any instructive information about traveling Egypt, please give me !Would you give me advice for traveling to Egypt ?
My best advise is for you to get hold of a copy of The Lonely Planet guide to Egypt .

It will be a handy reference and resource book for planning your trip and during it.

I would advise you to book as much as possible of your trip through your local travel agent unless the company or hotel is recommended by either Lonely Planet or Tour Egypt.

There is also and excellent website that covers absolutely everything you could wish to know about Egypt.

http://www.touregypt.netWould you give me advice for traveling to Egypt ?
in cairo, stay at the mena house - it's very near giza and you can have a view of the pyramids from their restaurant! it's also walking distance to giza. be sure to enter the great pyramid and check out the boat museum. of course, spend a day or 2 at the cairo museum and visit khan-el-khalili (oldest market) and get great prices on their spices. when we went to aswan, we stayed at the old cataract hotel and took a 3hour bus convoy to abu simbel. well worth the trip. abu simble is magnificent. in luxor, we stayed at the sonesta. all are very nice hotels! i can give you the name and contact details of our tour guide, marwan, who's an archaelogy or egyptology (i forget which) major. he was very very good and gave us details on egyptian history that i'm sure other guides would have skipped. he also took very good care of us. we brought our own water but when we ran out, we bought bottled water and we were ok. although egypt has become tolerant of the way some europeans/americans dress, i suggest you avoid wearing short shorts, tanks or revealing clothes. enjoy!
my advice is canceling your plan
www.travellerspoint.com
the weather here will be around 60 F day time and 45 night time (in cairo), may have some light rain in Feb but of course it's heavy winter in Alexandria and the red sea (hurgada, sharm el sheikh) and so warm in luxor and aswan

in cairo i think Nile Hilton is nice cheap hotel and in midtown so near to everywhere in cairo

you'd love cairo specailly at night and in that time of the year

wish you nice trip and would love to help in case you have any question about egypt just contact me

Any parents have any advice regarding potty training a 2 year old?

We have a two year old son that I stay at home with. Potty training started out great with little to no accidents a day. Then. . . he started going whenever he got in trouble, had to sit in the corner, or didn't get his way. I know it is all about control with him. Has anybody gone through the same situation or similar situations? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!Any parents have any advice regarding potty training a 2 year old?
Im a stay at home dad......know what thats all about. You just got to be a little more kindhearted till he works out the problem. It'll take him doing it for himself...not much you can do. Or maybe pull ups on him will make him feel bad, to where he would not want to have those accidents and go to the potty afterall.Any parents have any advice regarding potty training a 2 year old?
You Have To Make It Fun For Your Son. Try Putting The Big marshmallows in the Toilet For Him. Kinda Like Aim and Shoot.

Or The Toilet Paper Squares After You've Drawn on them with Markers.

He's A Boy, And I Suggest if you live in the Country, or Not a Very Busy Neighborhood to let him go outside on the rocks and trees. He'll Love It!

  • Does anyone have any advice on sticking to a goal?

I easily get discouraged and I am inpatient HOWEVER, I am stubborn and if I want something bad enough I work for it.Does anyone have any advice on sticking to a goal?
Write your goal on a piece of paper, something that is possible to achieve over a period of time and write ways of how you can achieve this.

Post this paper in a place where you can easily see it. Remind yourself every week what you are working for.

Don't get discouraged, take a deep breath and think of the end result and if you keep wokring at it you are going to reach your goal. Does anyone have any advice on sticking to a goal?
Write your goals down. A list of short term a list of long term. Look at those goals everyday. Several times a day. You have to believe in them and do something each day towards them. You know how bad you want them to come forward so you have to do something for that to happen. Prey, fast (Asking God for something and not eating for however many days 2 or 3 whatever and constantly preying) whatever else it takes!!!!!!!! You know what you want, no one has to push you or force you like a child so do your thing and keep moving toward the sun.
I believe that writing it down and reading it every day is supposed to help.

the few times I've tried it it worked - helps you remind yourself everyday - and gets that stubbornness you mentioned to kick in.

It doesn't have to be a full blown mantra or anything. Just enough to keep you focussed in the beginning.
Well I'm no expert at achieving a goal, but I try my hardest

    1. When things start to get hard or someting just imagine the feeling you'll get when you achieve it

2.be very very very determined, like keep a record of things you need to do to achieve it and things you should avoid

3.Decide what the fastest, smartest way is to achieve that goal
You have to take it in baby steps, stay positive, sometimes it helps to write down a time line so to speak of each step towards your goal, then at each step you pass you get the enjoyment of knowing you are that much closer, celebrate each step do something special for yourself.
Think about what will happen if you don't stick to it! That one helps me. A lot!!! You know, ';eat this candy and you will begine to look like Aunt Glinda';.

Do you have any advice on taking photos of fish in a fish tank?

I just have a regular consumer-end digital camera.Do you have any advice on taking photos of fish in a fish tank?
I like Sunnyjay's answer better. Add to that...

If you have a tripod or minipod of some kind, use that. Set up the shot by focusing on the spot where you expect to take the picture and then wait until the fish finds his way into your composed shot. I did that in this sample by focusing on the glass piece before the fish swam out from behind it.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstei鈥?/a>

If you are using the tank's fluorescent light, first try by setting your camera's white balance to fluorescent. There are MANY kinds of fluorescent light, though, so it might not work. If the colors don't come out right, get out your manual and see if you can set a custom white balance with your camera.

My sample has a pretty high ISO and that probably won't come out so good with your camera, based on your description. You will probably want to limit your ISO to 400, if not less. Maybe your camera can handle ISO 800 okay, though. Fortunately, fish swim kind of slow a lot of the time, and you can get away with a long shutter time, like 1/10th of a second. You probably don't have a remote, so just push the shutter button in gently and HOLD IT IN until you are sure the picture is taken. This will minimize the camera shake.

If you find that you get a reflection of the camera on the glass, you can take a piece of black paper and cut a hole out to match your lens size and then poke the lens through that hole. The black paper (or cloth) will cut out the reflection.

As Sunnyjay said, just keep experimenting by changing different settings until it comes out the way you want it to. It's free.

Good luck.Do you have any advice on taking photos of fish in a fish tank?
You're welcome. I hope it worked out okay.

Since the tank is most likely reflective glass, you won't want to use a flash. Which means you'll want to use a tripod, or steady it in some secure way. Then play with lighting coming in from the top of the tank, through the water, not the glass. You may also want to play with a dark, neutral background behind the tank to prevent silhouetting from background light.

Just play around with it since it is digital, you can just delete until you get what works for you.
Turn on tanks florecent light, turn flash on camera off or put finger over flash. Worked for me.

Can anyone lend any advice on shower/tub repair?

I have a shower/tub combo with a problem that I can't seem to fix. There is not enough water pressure when I pull the diverter on the faucet to force water out of the shower head. The pressure in the rest of the bathroom is fine. I have checked the valves and replaced the faucet...what else should I check/replace?Can anyone lend any advice on shower/tub repair?
IT'S THOSE DAMN 1.2 GALLON SHOWER HEADS!

PULL OUT THE WATER REDUCER WASHER %26amp; DRILL IT OUT W/ A 3/8'; - 1/2 '; METAL BIT!

THANK YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS!Can anyone lend any advice on shower/tub repair?
when you replaced the valves was that just the valve stems or whole valve body.some valve bodies have a small strainer inside the outlet to the shower,if this is the problem it can be fairly involved to remove this strainer(which i still have never learned the purpose for)very first thing ,take the shower head off the shower arm that comes out of wall.with head off, turn on shower,if flow is good clear debris from shower head strainer(this is a very common problem.if flow is not good you can check flow to valve by turning off water and removing valve stems.slip something through holes and over valve stem receptacles(pc. of pipe or tubing)just to keep too much from entering walls when water is turned on.hold pipe or tubing and have someone turn water on just for 2-3 seconds, this should be long enough to determine if water flow in is ok.if it is slow try to flush it out with longer bursts of water pressure.(this is fairly uncommon unless in a newer home where debris may have fallen into roughed-in water lines and now be showing up)if none of this is the cause,it probably goes back to the valve body diverter strainer which can only be accessed by going into the wall behind tub.(i've only ever encountered this once)if you did not replace shower head and arm i'll bet that's the problem.

If you want to look like an authentic player wear the pads, if you just want to look cute than go without them.

Could you do me a favor to give some advice on my writing?

I'm a Chinese student in Beijing, and I find it so helpful to get my writing corrected by native English speakers.

Here's my writing, and I would really appreciate your advice.

One of the main causes, and possibly the most significant one, is the soaring number of cars. Over the past 50 years, there were rather fewer families having enough money to buy a car in China, but now, however, cars have become necessities for average families living in cities, due to the dramatic growth in technology and economy. Consequently, the car ownership constantly increasing and this makes traffic blocked.Could you do me a favor to give some advice on my writing?
Me's answer is the best. Take that advise!Could you do me a favor to give some advice on my writing?
Is this part of your writing or all?

if this is all, you need a good intro!

    Also, ';Over the past 50 years, there were rather fewer families having enough money to buy a car in China, but now, however, cars have become necessities for average families living in cities, due to the dramatic growth in technology and economy';

WHOA ROS ALERT(run on sentence) this is kind of long considering this entire thing is like 3 sentences T_T

    Otherwise it's really good!
Over the past 50 years, few families in China have had enough money to buy a car. Due to the dramatic growth in technology and economy, cars have become necessities. Consequently, car ownership has resulted in great blocks in traffic.
    1) One of the main causes of what?

    2) Delete the word ';rather';.

    3) Over the past 50 years, there were fewer Chinese familes who had enough money to buy a car than in 2008. This change has resulted partially because cars have become neccessities for average families living in cities, due to dramatic growth in technology and economy. Consequently, car ownership in China is constantly increasing. As a result of the increase in the number of cars being driven, traffic has become more congested in recent years.
    YEAH OK
Here is an edited option. What you had was pretty good, but I changed a few verb choices to make it more clear. Hope it helps.

Possibly the most significant cause (of what? Road congestion? Put that here), is the soaring number of cars in use today. Within the past 50 years, far fewer Chinese families have had enough money to buy a car. Today, however, the situation is changing. Cars have become necessities for average families living in cities. This is due to the dramatic growth in technology and an improved economy. Consequently, ever-increasing car ownership is creating greater traffic congestion.

  • My ex is trying to summons me to family court to get access to our daughter. Any advice?

He has not seen her in over 2 years as he has been incarcerated for serious violent offences (against me not my little girl) he is due to for parole in april and I have just heard that a summons was dropped off at my old workplace. Has anyone got any advice or knowledge of the Australian legal system? I have changed my name and address (work and residential) whilst he has been away.My ex is trying to summons me to family court to get access to our daughter. Any advice?
apply for a restraining order. if he finds you and takes your child. it will be illegal and he will be sent to jail.

other than that, isolate your self from his buddies and tell your friends not to give information about you to him. (he will most likely find you through your friends and his peers)My ex is trying to summons me to family court to get access to our daughter. Any advice?
In many cases after he gets a job and gets remarried.

The court will grant him limited visits eventually however from the start you have to!

You have to let the judge know that under no circumstances can he have unsupervised visits with out your approval of the person that does the supervising meaning be there 100 percent of the time the visits occur.

not any new wife or sister that will lie for him.and never to allow him in a car alone for any excuse without the person supervising the visits. All person that act as supervisors have to be in writing and approved by you but try and use a caring but disinterested person.

Someone that only cares for the kids welfare not you or his differences.

I'm certain the court will agree.

Safety of the kids welfare is all that matters.
Get a good lawyer. He may be required to have supervised visits. But remember, just because he was violent towards you he may not be violent towards your daughter.
get a lawyer .. he will help you out .. and you will win in this case .i am sure ..
get a lawyer. I would say that as a parent and has served his time, he might be elligable to be a part of his childs life. The only thing is that you need a lawyer to guide you. And suggest he have supervised visitation and not be allowed to be with the child alone. the more proof you have on him as far as making him look bad, the better chance you will have to get full custody of the child. also, make sure you go into detail as to what type of parent you are and what you do with your child and what school she might attend and such. keep it restricted cause these rules that are set in court now will stay till the child is 18+ yrs old or till you go back to court and modify it. so watch what you accept.

Seahorses. What advice can you give me about keeping them as pets?

My wife is enamored by them but none of us have no experience with them (though I have a lot of experience with freshwater newts, have bred them, raised them to adulthood).

I know enough that it's wrong to get wild-caught seahorses. But I'm looking at captive-bred options, I want specifics on dealing with them as pets and would especially appreciate any recommendations for websites.Seahorses. What advice can you give me about keeping them as pets?
Tall marine aquariums with gentle water movement are great for Seahorses. It's also good to add ';posts'; for them to hitch on to. If you buy tank-raised Seahorses, then they should be reared on frozen brine shrimp, making them much easier to feed. Wild-caught Seahorses eat only live food usually, and often carry diseases with them, so tank-raised ones are best. Check out the links below for more information.

RegardsSeahorses. What advice can you give me about keeping them as pets?
For openers, the aquarium should have extra depth, because of the vertical nature of their lives. They have rather special dietary needs. You should have enough aquarium experience to provide excellent water conditions(this is a little more complex than freshwater). The very best advice I can give you is to purchase more than one up-to-date books on Sea Horse Culture. There is more to learn than the average website will provide. One other source of good information is the specialty column in Fresh and Saltwater Aquarium Magazine. There may even be archives on their website. Good luck.
    seahorses - keeping and breeding

... are about 35 different species of seahorses spread all over the world, but only ... Unfortunately some of the coloured seahorses turn pale by the time. ...

That's just one site I found.

From what I understand, they are hard to keep alive unless you are an expert.

And not all of the breeders will guarantee the animals will be alive on delivery.
get real plants for them to cling to and make sure your aquarium has a strong current try to recreate their natural habitat.

I purchased a birdbath solar fountain on eBay last November. So far it has not done anything.Any advice please?

There were no instructions, but assembly seemed quite straight forward so I positioned it in the sunniest part of the garden. However, nothing happened.

I emailed the seller, but received no response.

It was suggested by friends that there was not sufficient sun at that time of the year. It still has not done anything. I live in the Midlands in the U.K. Can anyone suggest anthing please?I purchased a birdbath solar fountain on eBay last November. So far it has not done anything.Any advice please?
My solar lights are working well, now that the sun has intensified - I'm also in the midlands.

An option could be to find a similar solar product and check to see whether the batteries match - if they do, you could try these instead, as a way of ruling out the batteries. Stores such as Wilkinsons do a refund if you're not happy with your purchase, and sell solar equipment too - buy a small product, if the battery matches, don't use the Wilkinson product. If the cheap new product's battery works in your birdbath, you could keep the new product, but have a - more expensive - working bird bath.

Otherwise, return the 2nd solar product from wilkinsons etc, unused, and get your refund. At least you tried out whether the batteries were at fault. You seem to have done everything else in your power, contacting the seller etc to now. You could follow ebay's complaint procedure, but I'm sure that this isn't your priority, just getting a working fountain.

Finally, if you know someone who is good with electricity, perhaps you could see if they could swap the 2 solar panels over, and see if that has any effect, during daylight.

Hope this helps. Good luck! RobI purchased a birdbath solar fountain on eBay last November. So far it has not done anything.Any advice please?
Alrighty then I asume that your put water in the fountain, turned it on and nothing happened. I would suggest to check the batteries. Most batteries used in solar are rechargable or needs a new battery.
try using a light source to determine if the solar cells are working.

A workmans portable light of appreciable wattage ought to do the trick. At least then you'll know if the thing is simply defective, or merely inadequate.
The fact that the Seller didn't answer your e-mail kinda suggests that he/she may not had been completely honest. See if there is a manufacturer name on it any where; then call them %26amp; ask. E-mail the seller again, too, %26amp; see if he/she will respond.

    Consider starting a painting business!

Basic painting skills are easy to learn, it doesn't take much money to get started ($250 or less) and you can make great money working part time hours.

If you would like more information or if you have any questions I would be happy to help you.

    Andy
hello there breakrmake, this worked well for me when I was younger and just out of highschool. I was in the same position you are with little resources, but had plenty of drive. I started a business servicing turbine ventilators that you see on just about everyones house. if you look down the street you live on or in older neighborhoods you will notice that probably 50% or more of the turbines are not turning. So I made up some flyers stating that I would be in the area next week and was accepting appointments to repair %26amp; service turbine ventilators. On your flyers remind the homeowner that properly serviced and working turbines increase the efficiency of their air conditioning unit by approximately 15% which will save them money on their energy bill. The items needed for this endeavor are simple: a can of grease, ladder, a cross point and flat screw driver, a small socket set or portable drill with a 1/4'; and 5/16'; screw chuck, a small level and a can or two of silver spray paint and WD-40. Pick a neighborhood where the houses are a little older since there will be more turbines in need of servicing, set out flyers on the houses that you can see which have inoperable turbines and then set appointments as the homeowners call. Make sure to keep all appointments that you set, if you have a customer that wants additional services like cleaning gutters or sweeping debris off of the roof just make sure that it doesn't interfere with already scheduled tasks. I got to the point where I could earn anywhere from 5-6 hundred dollars per day. the service part is simple just remove the screws holding the turbine in place, lift it off of the bearing point and grease the bearing, replace the turbine %26amp; screws making sure that it is level. Once this is accomplished if the turbine is starting to rust spray it with the silver paint. and that's it. This process takes about 10 minutes for each one. I used to charge around $30.00 to do two turbins in the early 80's. You should also keep several new turbines of different sizes so you can sell the homeowner a new one if theirs has a bad bearing point and is unable to be repaired. This is not necessary at first or at least until you have made enough money to keep some stock on hand. I made enough to pay cash for a new truck in 4 months and still had money for regular expenses. I hope that this helps.
first you what to look at what kind of business you what to do? do you what to start a Internet business or a land base business. there are allot of types of business. you have to also look at what makes you happy. that's how I fill anyway. I have my owe Construction Estimating business, and expense to make about 50k this year. the only cast for me is my Internet bill, and time that I spend at it. and I do it all over the Internet. You also what to look at how much Time you what to spend each week. some business to start up might take 20 hours a week and some you might have to go all out an put in 50 or 60 hours a week.

so here is where you need to start ask yourself the question.

What kind of business do I what to start?

how much time do I what to spend each week?

Do I what a land base or an Internet business??

    Will it make me happy?

Can anyone give me any advice on an engineering career in renewable energy?

Any information or links on careers available, or degrees/universities would be greatly appreciated, because I'm totally lost! (I live in the UK if that helps, but hope to emigrate to USA/Canada/Australia and don't mind which country I study in?)

Thank you so much for any help!!Can anyone give me any advice on an engineering career in renewable energy?
If you believe in something, go for-it.

I don鈥檛 think it is fair to say that it is a bad idea, some countries politicians are more pro than others.

Personal conviction is one thing, politics is another ball of wax altogether.

As to what is available in jobs today may have nothing to do with what will be available tomorrow.

Me, I am in electronics, I think lawyers make a whole lot more money than us, but (in general) electronic engineers are much happier campers!

It is normal that we feel lost throughout our life about different situations.

Don鈥檛 worry too much; it will all come together sometime. Can anyone give me any advice on an engineering career in renewable energy?
This is not a very good idea. A lot of renewable energy research is not cost effective, and is being quietly shut down. For example, Obama has already shut down most hydrogen economy development.

    http://www.planetforlife.com/h2/index.ht鈥?/a>

If you count nuclear energy as renewable, there are good careers to be had in that field. In order to be truly renewable we need fast breeder reactors, but even without these nuclear energy is a growth industry.
Get a degree in Environmental Engineering...research colleges with this degree choice.
I would be very concerned with whether a particular technology, no matter how politically favored, makes any sense.

For example, corn ethanol as made in the USA is more about buying farm state votes; it produces at most a very little net energy [the distillation energy is a killer]. Biodiesel makes vastly more sense, but Congress followed the money, not the BTUs.

You could also get shafted if you went into, say, windmills, and Congress [or Parliment] had very generous tax credits, then later slashed them so the technology was no longer cost effective, or seriously less so. Then there would be a savage shakeout in the industry, lots of plants closing and people unemployed. Any time your career depends on what specific rules come out of the politicians, and where those rules changing can do you in, well, go into that field only if you have a strong stomach lining and no family history of depression. Talk to anyone who worked in aerospace in the later '70s....

Another example of a politically favored but technologically ridiculous idea is hydrogen. Load of garbage. Been seeing it talked up since I was in college, and it hasn't yet made it, and I don't think ever will [well, maybe after we have working fusion plants]. Yes, hydrogen *can* be made by electrolysis. But where do you get the electricity ? Steam boiler ? Efficiency of maybe 40%.

Most hydrogen is made from petroleum or natural gas, losing some 60% of the energy content while doing so. And emitting lots of CO2.

Yeah, when you burn hydrogen, the only product is water, but in making the hydrogen there is pollution....

Not to mention that the gas tank on a car is much lighter than the gasoline it contains. THat is very definitely not the case for hydrogen storage !!!! There the tank greatly outweighs the hydrogen, and hauling heavy tankage around gobbles energy.

Hydrogen is the leakiest gas there is. I ran part of a high pressure lab where we did a lot of 15,000 psi work. You could have a setup that would hold CO or Ar just fine that would leak like a bastard with H2. So all the claims that hydrogen could be distributed through existing natural gas lines, many of which are *polyethylene* are ridiculous. Yes, it *could* be transferred that way, but not anywhere near me if you please !

As an exercise for the student, look up hydrogen embrittlement of metals, particularly some steels.

Besides which, you will get nowhere near as many pounds per hour through the pipe, and hydrogen has less energy per pound than does methane.

Another kink with hydrogen is that its Joule Thompson Inversion Temperature is below room temperature. Below the JTIT a gas cools on being adiabatically expanded [ie, letting it escape from high pressure], but above the JTIT it HEATS UP ! Ideal gases have no JTIT, but we have to deal with REAL gases in the real world which engineers, though not politicians, inhabit.

Hydrogen leaking from 5,000 psi to atmospheric will actually heat enough to reach its autoignition temperature. We could always tell when it was a hydrogen rupture disc that blew because the paper tag we had hung on the disc holder [to show the disc pressure rating] would be on fire.

Ammonia plants have a lot of really high pressure [15,000 psi on up] hydrogen in their piping, and a hydrogen flame is nearly invisible in any decent light. So to find leaks the operators walk along holding a straw broom against the piping. When the broom bursts into flames they have found the leak....

Now, did the popular press mention any of the above ? Nooooo. So let yourself be guided by the technical press; the popular press is usually gosh-wow cr@p written by people who do not understand what they are writing about, who usually have some personal spin they are throwing on it, and are usually unable to tell when their sources are spinning or lying. Cold fusion or polywater ring any bells ?

The above rant aside, though, I can see how renewable energy COULD have a bright future. It could also be utterly and completely screwed up by the politicians who want to run everything and play their little industrial policy games.

And if you think politicians never screw up, just look at the banking system....

The field might also be subject to some very disruptive technologies out of biotechnology. It would be ugly if you became an expert on biodiesel and then Monsanto or someone came out with some plant that had berries filled with pure iso octane....

Since your college tuition in the UK is free, I'd say stay there and get as much free schooling as you can. No point racking up a quarter million $ or more in debt. You could do a PHD at an American university later if you wanted.

Does anyone have any practical advice for controlling rage?

When I say rage, I mean rage, not anger or frustration I'm talking about when you are so mad you get tunnel vision and remember everything as a slow blur after. I鈥檓 having trouble with episodes of intense anger and I need a way to stop myself from getting into a rage and doing things I later regret.Does anyone have any practical advice for controlling rage?
When rage comes on, a good brisk walk or cardio activity would be good to do immediately. Clear your mind. Get your heart racing just like the rage. Cardioactivity releases stress which is probably a trigger point for this rage. If you can release the stress asap, then the rage should subdue. I would invest in a punching bag...hang in garage or attic and some gloves. Punch the rage out....run.....lots of people pick up running to treat stress. Acting on anger is being emotionally out of control. I would also look into seeing if you have a personality disorder that is causing the rage. Borderline? Bipolar? Medicines are out there to help get that rage under control. I would consult a psychologist in your area....either there are healthy steps you can take without medication or medication is needed. Good luck

I found the perfect wedding dress at a boutique but I need some advice please?

The dress is a little bit above my price range, is it wrong for me to ask the owner of the boutique to see if she can lower the price for me?

I don't know how these things work...thanks!I found the perfect wedding dress at a boutique but I need some advice please?
Yes, it is perfect acceptable, and some shop owners will respect you a bit more if you attempt to haggle...but there is a way to do it and get results and a way to just get frustrated!

First off, don't let HER know it is the perfect dress...try this...wait until she is not busy...the shop should be empty, or at least no one else waiting for help or within earshot...do your negotiating when no one else can overhear...and say, ';You know, I could see this dress working for me...but it IS out of my price range...and I would still have to pay to have it altered...could you work with me on the price? and JUST BE QUIET! (Silence is power...and nervous, unsure people will start yammering to fill the silence, and SHE knows this!) And wait...play it cool...

Either she will bite, or she won't...she may ask you what you had in mind...and give her a figure a little below what you are willing to pay...because you will have to bargain up to a price...or you might get lucky...or she might throw in alterations...if she isn't willing to come down on the price as much as you had hoped, she if she will throw in more stuff, such as the veil, or a slip, etc...try to get something else, if the price will not be adjusted down...

And don't be afraid to offer her your name and number, and ask her to call you if she changes her mind...then gather your coat and purse and WALK OUT THE DOOR! (Now, you and I both know you will probably only make it to the car before you turn around and go back, but SHE doesn't know this at all!) She will probably stop you once your hand is on the door knob!

I can almost guarantee this! How do I know? Ask my husband who buys the cars in this family while he holds the coats and keeps an eye on the kids! I leave the sales guys shaking their heads (and shaking in their boots) every single time! I love it!I found the perfect wedding dress at a boutique but I need some advice please?
    - Have a look on the internet and try to find it cheaper. Then go to her and tell her you wont buy the dress from her unless she lowers the price. Don't forget to take proof though!

    - Yes you can ask her to lower the price.

    - If she is evil and refuses to lower the price, you can always take money from another area of your wedding budget.

    - Try to be really nice to her before you ask and make it feel like she really knows you. Tell her about your ';dream'; wedding.

    - Be sincere and tell her that it is your dream dress.
Because you are going to a boutique it is perfectly acceptable! At your wedding you should feel great about how you look and feel. If you are denied though, which I doubt you always have the option of cutting corners in other place such as your cake or doing your own make up instead of having it professionally done. Good luck with your dress and I wish you many happy years to come with your spouse
Sure, bargain, bargain, work it down!

Play it like a car -- ask for what their purchase price was, and offer a little over that.
nah, tell her it's your dream dress and try to bargain for a lower price. she might not lower the price since its a boutique store though. good luck!
no..my mom does it sometimes at some stores and they actually let her. so try tell them that your getting married and you have so much more to buy and relly want this dress.. good luck sweetie
Couldn't hurt. Especially in these hard times.
never hurts to ask! good luck, and congrats!! :)

May I have some advice about buying a computer?

A good friend of mine is selling his Eee PC to me, with Windows XP and Office installed, for 拢65. Is this a good buy?May I have some advice about buying a computer?
Well, all eeePCs come with OpenOffice.

If you want it for homework, e-mail, and basic browsing, that's not a bad deal. They usually run at very least twice that.May I have some advice about buying a computer?
    i don't know i only deal in $

it depends on what you are going to use it for.
well you need to know more then that what processar is it running how much ram how much memory does the harddrive have and if it older then 10 years dont buy it bad deal
I would say that's a good deal. Is it the 10'; or 7'; screen, and the 700 mhz or the 1.6ghz Atom? There are a lot of varieties of eee, but you'll be getting a working computer for about 98USD, which is a sweet deal. Why not? I'd go for it. I've owned an eee for just under a year now, and I'm pretty happy. That's a good price.
its ok good price but i suggest you request him for about 50 quid.

either way, make sure you have all the media thats supposed to come with it like manuals...windows xp cd...office cd......

Besides the all purpose answer of eBay, try posting your site link in the on line classifieds. Give a short description of what you are selling ';Hand made custom jewelry'; and the link. You can pay for a featured listing, or get a free one and post it every day, or every other to keep it near the top. When you've made some money, spend it on advertising. After you've made some more, buy a professional site and pay Yahoo or another search engine to add it to their listings. You can also list it for a small fee in your local yellow pages, coupons that come in the mail, circulars that are in the papers. Most of this can be done for a few hundred. If you don't have any start up capital that you can use, start with the free classifieds and eBay.I am a jeweler looking to sell on the internet. Any advice on how to start? Can someone give me advice on working from home?

I have been caring for an ill family member, and it's pretty important that I be home most of the time. I was considering trying to work from home, but it isn't an option at my current place of work. I have tried looking around for various work-from-home opportunities, but haven't had much luck. I know that most of them are scams, but I also know that there are some legitimate jobs out there. Anyway, I was hoping someone could give me some tips or point me towards a specific website. Any help at all is appreciated. Can someone give me advice on working from home?
I've tried lots of different things to earn money from home. None of them were scams, but the majority of them didn't earn the kind of money I would have liked to be earning. Eventually, I found a home based business that didn't cost money to get started with. It's been the best thing for my family and I love what I'm doing now.Can someone give me advice on working from home?
There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills (fast typing, 10 key), may want you to know excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but it is rare.

One option is to freelance and bid for data entry jobs. However, you are bidding along with many people and often other countries-so you may have to bid really low just to get a job and/or project.

Another option is to offer data entry services to businesses in your area. It can be done, I know people who have done this but it is not easy to do.
All I can tell is beware that no investment is required from you. Make sure that you receive fringe benefits.

    Good luck.
All the work at home deals are scams. You only get to telecommute on a job after you have been there for a while.
Don't worry at all just take a tour. You will like it.I am already working with them.

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.

Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are applicable to us,canada, europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link.

    http://genuinedataentry.blogspot.com/

Its been updated today to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard.

So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online. It is just that need to pick the one that suits you the best. I hope this helps you and I believe you will find the online job that you love the most. Thanks

Does anyone want to read my college app essay and give me advice on how I should shorten it?

I wrote the essay, it's like..3000 words long. And I need help? What should I keep or throw out? And there are many grammatical errors in there, I'll fix them later. I need to know how I should shorten this up exactly first of all. Email me if you're interested. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.Does anyone want to read my college app essay and give me advice on how I should shorten it?
fax to meDoes anyone want to read my college app essay and give me advice on how I should shorten it?
Focus on your grammar first. The first things the application reviewer notices is your grammar. If your essay has run-ons and spelling errors, than that will overtake whatever you are trying to say. Just get to your point as quickly as possible. Remember, the reviewer (depending on the school you are applying to) has to read hundreds of these and a lot of times if they think it's too long they may not even read it all, especially if there's bad grammar.
In Essay writing, limit your important ideas into three. Follow the tips: content, organization(coherence, unity and emphasis) and mechanics-grammar, spelling, abbreviations, etc.

The essay should start with introduction-here you captivate the attention of the reader by using motivational strategies: alarming question, quotable quotes, etc. and then the body and the conclusion. In the conclusion reiterate the important ideas and leave a message at the end that would imprint in the mind of the reader.
you can send it to me.

hi punkrckgirl- writing an essay about yourself is very hard. if you need a 2nd, 3rd or 8th pair of eyes to look it over and make critiques, suggestions or whatever i would be more than happy to do so. just email it to me with your email address and i will send it back to you via my normal email address. good luck.
Just focus on your main points and cut out the fluff. A confident and skilled writer can demonstrate their thoughts through a series of clear and concise sentences without any extra baggage.
Focus on the big details and not every aspect. Tell them why you are passionate about the school and anything else that you'd like to say to impress them.
i cant give you essay advice but i can tell you to put down that your jewish and also some colleges the essay doesnt even matter so dont stress about it

Going to the Casino tonight for the first time, any advice?

I'm going expecting to lose any money I make of course, lol. But what are some fun, easy games I'm not going to go broke on? I've never been to a casino before and I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, but what is a good amount to just play around with?Going to the Casino tonight for the first time, any advice?
Can you spot me $100 before you go. I promise I'll pay you back!

As an avid blackjack and poker player who has played some of the other games as well, I personally to a newbie would recommend blackjack. Reason is poker is a little intimidating and when you don't know the rules the sharks like me will eat you alive :-P yum. lol jk. If you know how to play poker though you can spend 24 hours at a table and still not go broke. (I've done 12 hours but some people are really sick with it :)

Blackjack ($100 - $200 on the table. find the $5 minimum bet table): Blackjack is what I'd suggest 1st to you because it has the lowest house edge. almost like flipping a coin. half the time the casino wins. half the time you win. Unless you learn how to count cards, then the 45/55 in the casinos favor becomes 45/55 in your favor so it is somewhat beatable if you want to spend the weeks to learn how to do that. too much work if you ask me. but with blackjack you'll sit down and if you have a 100 or 200 or whatever, you can sit for a long time, watch everyone around you to see how they play, learn from them and sooner or later you'll be making money, losing money or at least breaking even and the time will fly.

Note: if you really don't have a lot to spend then try to put $60 minimum but it's much more fun putting $100. remember $5 minimum bet table, not the $10 or $15 ones.

Roulette ($50 to $100 on the table): fun fun fun. Strictly a gambling game though. There's no way to win at roulette unless you're psychic (like me :) lol jk. the house edge in roulette is about 5.25% or 55.25 against 44.75% minimum in their favor. The thing is there's no flexibility there like black jack cause it's all up to a little ball falling on a red or black number from 1 - 36. The roulette guy will teach you how to play if it's a table with no one else there or maybe one other person, so just find a slow one and say ';excuse me, this looks fun, how do I play it?'; Most people are nice and will take time to explain. Pure gamble, no strategy but a lot of fun and I love it.

Table Poker against the dealer $50 to $100: there are tons of table poker games against the dealer like pai gow, chinese poker, versions of holdem. I don't play any of these but the one time I did when I had no clue how to player no limit holdem, it was actually a lot of fun to play these games. You'll often find them right near the blackjack tables. Same type of set up and honestly I think you might enjoy it.. Usually the dealer and a fellow player will explain the rules and you ask nicely. Especially if you're a pretty girl :-D guys have one track minds sigh*

Note: same note as for blackjack. not much money in your pocket then try $60 minimum on table and hopefully $5 bets or less

Craps ($0 - $50): more of a losing game unless you know a little about it like my friend who kept betting on the ';don't come';. Everyone gave him mean looks for betting against the dice roller since it's bad luck but he figured, hey, it's all about making money and most times the die roller is gonna lose. The problem is when you roll certain numbers like 7 they clear the board and everyone loses a bet. The odds are against you for sure but my friend did make money but it's pure gamble and not that easy to make money at.

Slots ($0 - $50): slots are a losing proposition. If you like the feeling of flushing money down the toilet then I suggest you play slots. Slots is like lotto. a dollar and a dream.... but when the odds are better to get struck by lightening than winning the big million dollar jackpot..... (thats actually true, it's more probable to get struck by lightening) I'd just stick to poker personally where the better player has the edge even with the gamble involved. I still play slots anyway, but never for more than 40 bucks when I go for a weekend.

Anyway I don't think I left much out but if you're planning on losing money and staying for a while like a weekend or longer, then play all of the games and see what you like. You'll have a blast. I went to Vegas this year and I was on cloud nine so trust me, any casino you go to, 9 time out of 10 you're in for a good time! even if you go home busted broke :)

Blackjack, the different blackjack like table poker variants, roulette and some slots. go for it.

btw if you win the jackpot, you can ship my 5% to 1000 evere............... :) good luck at the casino!Going to the Casino tonight for the first time, any advice?
Only play blackjack if you actually know basic strategy. A lot of people commenting here don't seem to know how to play very well (hint:mathematically, 16 vs. 8 is not a very close call--you hit in that situation). If you know basic strategy, it's the best odds, but if you don't know how to play correctly, it's not a great game.

Pass/don't pass line on craps is like 1.4%. If you don't know how to play blackjack, that's a better bet (playing blackjack poorly is easily 5% house edge).

Pai Gow poker is an interesting game. Odds about like craps, but it's very slow losing (or winning) because so many hands are a push. You probably don't want to play that because it's a bit tricky to learn, but it's a very slow game.

Here's a great table from the Wizard of Odds. Make sure to learn how to play the game if play decisions matter. For some games (like pass/don't pass in craps or roulette) they don't. http://wizardofodds.com/houseedge

If you're playing slots, people seem to have fun with nickel slots on like $50. You need perhaps $200 for $5 blackjack or craps, and depending on when and where you're going, such a table might not be available. You might want to look into it.
blackjack has best odds. let the dealer bust if you can. holding a 16 and he shows an 8. you hit you probaly will bust, you don't hit he might have 18 but maybe not an you are still in the game. nickle slots are fun too, and usually lets you lose your money slower. good luck!
be careful but take some risk man. you never know wat you can get yourself or get yourself into man. use abput $100 tops, be careful man.I know alot of people that are addicted to going to the casino. it's just the thrill of the risk, man.
    have fun and gamble wisely

Black Jack is easy to learn and play

craps is easy to learn and allot of fun
Stick with Roulette. Forget Blackjack unless you REALLY know how to play it correctly.

Can anyone offer advice on starting a small cafe?

I'm looking all over the web for links but not much luck, if anyone can point me to any resources or provide any advice i would be very grateful.

Thank you.Can anyone offer advice on starting a small cafe?
    Hi!

If you're in the UK have you tried your local Chamber of Business? They should be able to point you in the right direction.

I don't know if this will help you, but there are four cafes in my area that are all within 1000sq metres from each other. Three of them are the kind of cafe that you see workmen in, plastic chairs and tables , hand written menus (complete with spelling mistakes!) and not at all professional looking.

The fourth one has proper wooden and metal chairs and tables. Menus have been professionally printed. This one is very clean and neat inside. They offer panninis and freshly made sandwiches, where the others only offer the usual sausage, bacon, egg butties etc.

The fourth one is the only one to have stood the test of time, it has the same owner since the day it opened, whereas the other three have ALL had several owners over the past two years.

The moral of the story here is that you need to know your market and ensure that you cater to it.

Best of luck! Can anyone offer advice on starting a small cafe?
ive often thought about running my own business, there is one thing i think vital and that would be location of this cafe, beach, town etc all good, not next to a mcdonalds. Really think about location would be my only advise if you go for it, and buy chairs and tables at auctions rather than new.
    Don't eat the profits !
Before you rent make sure that there is planing permission for a cafe /take a way.If there isn't walk a way,to operate a food outlet you will need a basic food hygiene cert .If you are fitting it out from scratch talk to your locale envirmental health and ask them what standards they want.Regester self employed, get public liability and employer liability insurance and be prepared to work24/7 for the first 2 years. And finally best of luck
what do you mean by resources. if you mean furniture go to IKEA they have a full cafe kitchen layout quite cheap. If you want to know about tax phone the tax office. If you want to know about law contact the small business bureau.

  • W-4 form advice needed for an independent contractor?

I have a full-time job and a part-time independent contractor job. On my full-time job's W-4 form there is a line for ';additional money withheld.'; Can that be used to pay the taxes for the money I make as an independent contractor or does that have to be paid separately quarterly?W-4 form advice needed for an independent contractor?
You should keep in mind following information about estimated taxes.

You must pay estimated tax for 2007 if both of the following apply.

    1. You expect to owe at least $1,000 in tax for 2007 after subtracting your withholding and credits.

    2. You expect your withholding and credits to be less than the smaller of:

*90% of the tax to be shown on your 2007 tax return, or

*100% of the tax shown on your 2006 tax return. Your 2006 tax return must cover all 12 months.W-4 form advice needed for an independent contractor?
    Yes, it could.

Keep in mind that it too is only an estimate.
You can have extra withheld on your W-4 to cover the independent contractor income instead of making quarterly payments.
Yes, you can use that line for that purpose. It is not intended for that purpose, but it will work. Note that your independent contractor income is subject to both income tax AND self-employment tax and that both must be paid through either quarterly payments or payroll deduction.
You could do that--grossly overwithhold on one side to make up for underpayments on the other.

Question for you to think about though:

Some employers try to get around paying employment taxes (social security and unemployment) and other employee benefits like workers compensation insurance by improperly classifying employees as independent contractors. If you are required to show up for work--personally--at a particular time, punch the clock, use the employers equipment and are paid an hourly rate, you are an employee. If you didn't understand the difference when you posed your question, I would be even more convinced that you are an employee. What is your preference, Slotted or Phillips? Complete an IRS Form SS-8 to get an official ruling on your status. This will help you get unemployment if you get fired.
call your accountant or h%26amp;r block and ask them.

Any recommendations and advice for trip to Amazon?

My brother and I would like to take a 3 to 7 day trip to the Amazon (26, 28 y/o from SF, Ca). I would like to get into something pretty authentic and not too touristy for a few days out of the trip - so maybe 3 days at an authentic jungle location, and 3 days in a really nice resort. Does any one have any recommendations for travel agencies or programs that they have gone thru and enjoyed? Anything I should DEFINITELY do or NOT do other than the medical exam requirements for traveling?Any recommendations and advice for trip to Amazon?
It is important to you to take a vaccine at least ten days earlier ('febre amarela' - I don't know if the name in english is 'yellow fever'?)

I recommend the ariau amazon towers hotel

The Amazon is a magnificent place, rich in bird and plant life. Much of the rainforest is impossible to reach, making the river the only means of transport. The luxurious and small cruise is a magical way to see a mysterious and endangered part of the world.Any recommendations and advice for trip to Amazon?
You can sign up for any 3 day jungle trip to the Amazon in Manaus. Amazon Riders is a good company there.
Hi there, amazonia is fantastic, but do not forget to take ';febre amarela'; vaccine.

febre amarela is a disease caused by the bite of some especific bugs.
If you go into the water, don't pee in it. Parasites will swim up into you while your urethra is open. This is something many Brazilians know about. I live in the bay area too. I'll be going back to Brazil in June. Don't forget to write me back to tell me how it went.
    Advices:

    1) Get a tourist guide ';for sure';!

    2) Get a mosquito repelent

    3) If you are very white, put lots of sun screen

    4) wear boots or comfortable shoes to walk in the jungle

    5) a digital camera (it is beautiful)

They are many tourist guide around Amazon. Take a look at some of the sites I found on google (see below). Also get in touch with the brazilian embassy or consulate near your town and ask if they would have any recommendation. I am sure they will help you as much as they can.

Be prepared for rejection at first. No matter how you tell him he's going to be disappointed, not that theirs anything to be upset about you've found love BRILLIANT!!. Once they see that you two are good for each other then they may resign themselves to the facts at hand and realise that they cant do anything about it. Good luck mate and remember the darker the juice the sweeter the berry.

Why all the advice about healthy halloween treats?

Why can't kids just eat their fill of good sugary candy at Halloween? Damn all the healthy treats that those soccer moms want them to eat!Why all the advice about healthy halloween treats?
Halloween is a special occasion. Obesity comes from everyday bad eating/exercise habits, so I agree with you. I am baking some special treats for my children and taking them out to trick or treat, from which they will each pick about 5 pieces of candy to eat that evening. They will also have a healthy dinner before heading out for the evening.

Halloween does not make anyone fat.Why all the advice about healthy halloween treats?
agree with you totally - just ration the treats out
Kids shouldn't just eat their fill of sugary candy because it is most definitely NOT good. A lot has been found out about how sugar interacts with the human body, and fat kids is the mildest result. Among other things, sugar has been found to be as addictive as nicotine, and it forces the human body to loose nutrients to just to digest it, which, with the crappy diet many Americans eat these days, can actually be enough to cause malnutrition. It also greatly increases the likelihood that kids will develop diseases like diabetes and some types of cancer. Sugar is known to cause a decrease in brain function and immune system function. These are just some of the known health problems that have been scientifically and medically linked to high consumption of sugar. There are many books, and even internet sites that reference medical studies, that have good information on how harmful sugar can be. Unfortunately, there are also many false studies out there that claim sugar is actually good for you, but if you dig deep enough, I have discovered that many of the ones I have looked at were paid for by companies that sell candy and other high-sugar junk foods. Would it really be in their best interests if people knew that sugar (what they sell to make a profit) was harmful? It's kind of like when the cigarette companies published fake studies saying that smoking wasn't bad for you. I hope I don't sound antgonistic, but this has become a very serious health issue.
I happen to agree if your child's regular diet is healthy. We are destroying all the fun holidays that existed when I was a kid. We didnt live on candy and goodies for the rest of the year so Halloween was fun and one of the best holidays of the year. We loved dressing up and banging on people's doors. We also made up our own costumes, mom didnt buy us one, and we could actually trust people. We had cocoa stops, bob for the apple stops, and penny stops. It is too bad that because of the society we live in so many neat riutals are lost to our kids.
too many fat kids thats why
There are many obese children nowadays. The lore of ';soccer moms'; is years old, and doesn't really pertain much to our society anymore. More psychiatrists and doctors alike have been telling us to give the kids more time to ';play';, outside of recreational sports. So, many parents stopped all of the extracurricular activities to give their kids a chance to breathe.

Well, now it backfired. We are back to the lazy, hum-drum, watch TV and play video games kid, where parents schlep gobs of sugar into their mouth's on a daily basis.

It is time we controlled our kid's eating habits, but one of the answers got it right on the head: If your kid is already eating healthy, Halloween is a fun tradition to loosen up and let the kids' indulge themselves.

Unfortunately, too many kids get sweets on a regular basis, and this will just put them over the edge.

It's hard, too, though...while I am all for healthy, active kids, Halloween is one day of the year when all parents should say ';the heck with it';, and give them the sugar they are looking for. If I gave away apples, my house would be vandalized.

If the ';soccer moms'; believe so much in health, they won't allow their kids to go Trick-or-Treating, and rather, will have their kids dress up and HAND out the junk, and then host a party afterwards.

    Good question, though!
Have you ever had to deal with a kid that ';had their fill'; of candy?

Let alone try to get them to bed afterwards.....no I guess not, or you wouldn't be asking.
    Diabetes!
true, but obesity is afflicting about a third of americans now. and diabetes has turned into an epidemic.

Whats the best advice you can give a babysitter ?

I babysit a lot. Moms tend to like me. I have 6 clients and watch kids 2-3 times a week. I have babysit over night for these 4 darling girls i watch. Any tips you can give me.( I am 15)Whats the best advice you can give a babysitter ?
watch the kids ... don't drink on the job ...ok maybe just a littleWhats the best advice you can give a babysitter ?
SAFETY is the number one issue!
Make sure you know the families before you start babysitting.

Always come prepared with toys, colouring books and crayons.

Make sure you know how the parents discipline the kids, so you can be consistent with the kids.

Make sure you`re clear on bedtime routines, and house rules.
Be sure you know CPR, that you know if any of the kids are allergic to anything, that you have all the information to contact the parents or whoever they tell you to call. You didn't say how old the girls are but if you go to their house take a new game with you every now and then or a new age appropriate movie. If it is daytime make sure that the parents are ok with you taking them out of the house to a park or playground, etc. If you have to cook for them do something fun like tiny little pancakes, sandwiches cut into shapes (it could be a time to show them how a whole sandwich becomes a half, then a fourth, etc) If you make cupcakes or cookies show them how to follow a receipe. Dress up is still popular, make your own fashions using paper bags, yarn, tape, go to Walmart and get a couple of yards of $1 a yard material and cut it into a couple of pieces for each child to wear then have a fashion show (if you use their moms high heels make sure mom says it is ok) Get some bubbles or make some (dishwashing soap and water). Make some popcorn and have a tea party. Get some chalk and go draw pictures on the driveway or sidewalk, teach them how to play hop scotch. I started babysitting when I was 10 (1000 years ago) so things were a lot simpler then but some of the simplest things are still the best.
wow, I would never ever trust a 15 yr old with my kids. Especially one who has to ask for tips on yahoo answers!

by the way..i love the bad mommy who gave me a thumbs down! You probably leave your kids with anyone!
Treat them the way you'd treat your own brother or sister, assuming you like them. hehe

Are there any lawyers out there willing to give some advice on a criminal case?

My hubby can't get a public defender because we have equity in our house. We can't get the equity out b/c we have a mobile home, and I know this because we've tried. We are $40,000 in the hole from paying lawyers in a child custody case (no regrets though). We CANNOT afford an attorney. He has to face a felony charge that he is not guilty of pro se, and we need some help. I want to put together a motion to dismiss, but I don't know if I have what I need to do it. I am asking a lot, I know, but I need 30 min of counsel to direct me. Please leave contact info. if you so happen to be willing. Thanks so much. Are there any lawyers out there willing to give some advice on a criminal case?
I am not a lawyer, but I can tell you to take the denial for home equity loan paperwork to the court, so that they can see in black and white that you cannot come up with the money.

No court will just take your word for it, that you cannot get the money on a loan, maybe apply at three different banks and have all three denials with you when you appear before the judge. Are there any lawyers out there willing to give some advice on a criminal case?
I am not a Georgia lawyer but I am a California lawyer. Although I can't give you specific information about the laws in Georgia, I can possibly give you some information about how the law works in general. Feel free to contact me through this service if you wish to chat.
Go to the court house or pay for a good law reference online.

Find some very simular cases, and look for the motions you wish to file in other cases. Use those to copy.

But beleive me, if you don't have an attorney and are in a felony case, you are going to lose, it is set up to work that way. The odds are against you. They can hide, not tell you info and more ( and you will not know it is happening)

Advice, sell you house if you have to, to get the money and get an attorney.

  • I want to start Bikram Yoga and I need some advice!?

I've heard some great things about Bikram and I want to give it a try. I really want to make some positive changes in my life and health, does anyone have any advice on how to maximize results? Thanks!I want to start Bikram Yoga and I need some advice!?
Bikram's tough, but it's awesome once you get into the habit. It's a great way to cleanse your body and spirit (corny, I know). It's also a great way to lose weight. The biggest tricks, I think are:

    1. Find a bikram studio with a good teacher that you feel comfortable with. You'll need a good teacher to help you really ';get'; the poses and make sure you don't injure yourself.

    2. Find a class that's at a convenient time for your several days a week. You need to go to bikram several times a week to really reap the benefits.

    3. Wear comfortable clothes that will wick the sweat off you. You're going to sweat a lot, but try to minimize the distraction.

    4. Drink lots and lots of water. You'll need it.

    5. Don't eat a lot beforehand, but make sure you've got some vitamins and nutrients in your system to get you through the 90 minutes. Orange juice or apples can be a great pre- or post-bikram snack.

Good luck!I want to start Bikram Yoga and I need some advice!?
First off, good for you! Have you gone to a class yet?

Best piece of advice is to stay hydrated - always make sure you enough water in you before your class (helping you to flush toxins, as well as stay balanced, focused and healthy).

Bikram yoga WILL give you what you need - just believe. Go atleast three times a wk and you will without a doubt see results within a month.

Go for it! and GOOD LUCK!

I need some advice to paint my brick exterior siding?

the house it's old and the brick looks kind of ugly. I would like to know if it's a good idea to paint brick siding. I am getting this house ready for sale.I need some advice to paint my brick exterior siding?
dont go to the expense of painting, get in a super washer to clean it down. if you do paint use a natural colour as its hard to please people and most like colours that you cannot predict!!I need some advice to paint my brick exterior siding?
Best advice is not to paint, but to clean. Best way to clean is power wash. That way, house will sell to people who like natural brick and those who might want to paint it. Once you paint it, it's hard to get back to natural, and you might turn off buyers.
My husband and I just painted our ugly gray brick fireplace. It turned out beautiful. We primed it first with Bullseye primer. We painted it a brick red color while the walls are a goldish color. I can't believe how it changed to whole look of our family room.

Paint is pretty cheap and it can make such a difference in the apperance of your house. Choose a color that is appealing to the eye. If there is trim, paint that a contrasting color.

I say go for it and Good Luck!
Yes you can paint brick. If it is real brick just power wash it and paint it with an exterior latex house paint. I would recommend a flat sheen, it will look more like the sheen of the original brick. If it not real brick-you said brick siding? , find out what it is made of, you make have to prime it first.
Selling the house and you are going to paint the brick? BIG MISTAKE. Powerwash the house and fix up the landscaping.
i'd say give the bricks a good scrubbing/powerwash, and spray them with an anti-mildew coating so it stays looking good. brick is in, and will help sell your house.
never paint brick. try power wash.
Check with your local 'Paint Store' usually a small, a mom%26amp;pop

place will give you the best advise.

It really needs to be done properly, then the results will

turn out really well for a very long time. Plus it really does up date it and look great. Which in turn will be a better sell.

    good luck

Hi, I need advice on whether to wear a necklace with a black evening gown, to a formal affair?

The gown has an assymetrical strap on one side. It comes down about 3 inches from my neck. I can't decide whether to where a necklace (perhaps a thick choker). I'm otherwise thinking of wearing long dangly earrings with no necklace. Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks!Hi, I need advice on whether to wear a necklace with a black evening gown, to a formal affair?
    1] wear hair up

    2] dangle or chandelier earrings

    3] no necklace

4] beautiful bracelet or gemstone ring on 'bare' armHi, I need advice on whether to wear a necklace with a black evening gown, to a formal affair?
i think you need something not to big with it being black it will set the dress off i wouldnt go for long dangly earings or big choker maybe something more dainty and some small dangly earings

    all the best
    pearls .. would look nice
Long dangling earrings--don't wear a necklace.

Small earrings, wear a single stone drop. The saying goes, KISS (keep it simple stupid). Stick with diamonds or plain gold.
Yes, long dangly earrings and a bracelet to match would set it off just right. No need for a necklace with this dress...Sounds cute, have a great time!
I haven't seen the dress, but from your description, I would opt just for the dangly earrings. I think the choker would draw the eyes away from the assymetrical design. Possibly even conflict with the assymetrical design.

    Just my opinion though.
If you want a classic look go for the choker....maybe crystal or even a pearl choker.
Either would work, but I think dangly earrings would work the best.

Any necklace, even a choker, runs the risk of competing with the neckline, so I'd not wear one at all.
well, i'm not big on necklaces.

but i think the following things would look nice in order of best to not so best.

1.just wear the earrings; no necklace

    2.pearls w/ matching earings

    3.thin-chained necklace w/ a tiny black gem

4.thin-silver-chained necklace w/ tiny diamond pendant
    Wear the long, dangly earrings!
if it's assymetrical, maybe you better go bare necked :)

put a little shimmer there tho :)

less is more remember with makeup and jewelery. you want to notice the gown not the bling bling by the sounds of it.
I think no necklace! It would take away from the interesting neckline of your dress. I think you are right to go with only some beautiful dangly earrings (and maybe a pretty bracelet?).
Either or,not both although I would say the earrings. If you have long hair, wear it in an upsweep.Men will pant, women will hate you. What could be better?
Women have such weird rules on what to wear and what time of the year it can be worn. Why do women make getting dressed so complicated?

The necklace sounds fine and not wearing it sounds fine to me, either way,,,but then I am a man. A Tube top would be OK to wear in my opinion.
Silver neclace would be nice with matching earrings. For a suttle look. Have a good time!!!!!
really a black evening gown will look good with most anything. Or, with nothing, becuase of the asymetery (sp?) of the gown, I think i would do only pearls, or the earing idea... and keep it simple. I think simple is always the most elegant!
I think just long dangling earings would be best.. it might be too much with the necklace
The long dangly earings and no necklace. It would be overdoing the neck area if you wear the neckalce as well. Plus it throws of the asymmetrical thing a bit.
Choker would be good or pearls.
It completely depends on the necklace but I think that a long, clean neck line can be very attractive. Dangly earrings are a good choice. Long necklaces with a pretty bangle look can be pretty too. If you are overweight in any way, I'd go for the earrings instead so that it draws the eyes up to your face.
    Stay classy, white pearls.
