I've done it since I was 13. I'm 18 now and just converted to Christianity. So it's a habit I have never stopped since the age of 13.Fellow Christians: what advice do you have for overcoming lust and masturbation?
Here are some things which are guaranteed to help, but there is nothing that will completely remove the desire. You must exercise will power, and stay close to God. Seek His will above your own.





Avoid eating meat or eggs, as these tend to increase the lustful passions.


Do not focus on the problem; doing so will only make it worse.


Get plenty of strenuous exercise.





Some people also report that certain foods like peanut butter make it worse. Each person will have a slightly different case. Try to be aware of what helps you the most.

Masturbation is biologically normal for a guy your age. Ignore the nonsense about not doing it - its just another method to try and control your life. One-hundred percent of human adult males have masturbated. If anybody tells you anything thing different they are lying, or just plain wrong. In fact, if a man does not have a ';discharge'; about once a day he increases his risk of prostate cancer by about 10%. Ignore what you are being told - its nonsense.
Masturbation is a normal part of being a mammal. You don't need to overcome it. There is no god judging you over whether you feel sexual pleasure and condemning you for something that he supposedly designed your body to need.





It's healthy, in fact, for males: Studies have shown that men who masturbate regularly are at a significantly decreased chance of developing prostate cancer.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1Co 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.





flee it which means do not think or dwell on it.





Do not come in contact with it willingly





put all of it out of your house and where ever you go.





think on these things and not sexual lust


Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

must admit i agree with ';a christian'; the best form af abstention is marriage. personally i think lust and masturbation are wonderful. don't get so hung up about them, i'd be more worried if these were not part of your life at your age. you sound like a normal healthy young man and with a bit of reading and learning you might forget these silly notions that restrict and try and control your life.what were you before your conversion?
Pray and ask God to renew your mind as often as needed because the mind itself is an enemy of God. So you might fall and do it but no that he loves you and he will deliver you if you ask for it and truly want to be delivered. And its not a free pass to sin knowing that he'll forgive you. I know you can overcome this strong hold(:
Pray that God will help you get over this. That's it. I had a problem with drinking and going to clubs. The Holy Spirit convicted me to the point that I didn't want to have nothing to deal with clubs or drinks. Some things God just takes away. Some things you have to really pray and fight to overcome them. That's why the bible says that we will suffer, and that we will have to shoulder our cross daily.
' Humble yourself, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time...... Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you..... Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour...Resist him, standing firm in faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering.'; -- 1 Peter 5:6-9
How can you do it knowing he sees you? I just couldn't. How do you lie to him and say, ';well really I didn't do it, but...';


Anyway, some of the disciples in Jesus day had the same problem. I think it was Paul or Peter, I forget which, but he fought it everyday. It's in the Bible.
There may be some correlation between the frequencies of masturbation and the frequencies of nocturnal dreams. In general the males who have the highest frequencies of nocturnal emissions may have somewhat lower rates of masturbation. Have a great wet dreams.
Follows Jesus: The Bible may say fornication is a sin, but fornication is not masturbation, therefore, masturbation is not a sin. Why do people interpret everything in the bible the wrong way?
Wean yourself off it. Space out the days. If you do it once every day, go to once every 2 days for a week, then once every 3 days for a week, until you've overcome it.

Its part of your body and ';releasing yourself'; is actually a great stress relief. there is nothing wrong with it ....





Me thinks this won't be a popular answer amongst the flock ...
Lobotomy, castration, iodine etc.
Get married or pray for God's overcoming power of the Holy Spirit.
Offer it to the Holy Spirit. Listen to His guidance.
Masturbation is not a sin





Lust is a human instinct

It doesn't matter what we do, what we are going through. We can stick around and see this night through.

It's rather easy. Just stop doing it.
