Does anyone have any advice on natural non toxic head lice products ?

My kids are always getting head lice or nits I've tried most of the shop bought stuff and although some of it works I'd like to know if there is a natural alternative out there, something that's safe for my kids heads?Does anyone have any advice on natural non toxic head lice products ?
Concerns about toxins in mainstream head lice products mean more and more parents are now opting for natural head lice remedies. One such treatment is those that contain natural plant extracts and oils, including Olea europaea 鈥?one of nature鈥檚 anti-parasitics 鈥?and Eucalyptus globulus 鈥?a powerful natural disinfectant 鈥?to help eliminate head lice.

This non-toxic, environmentally-friendly head lice treatment goes to work as soon as it is applied, its advanced natural formula interferes with the head lice reproductive lifecycle by killing live head lice and dissolving the glue that binds head lice eggs (鈥榥its鈥? to the hair shaft. Once nits are detached, they can be combed out quickly and easily using the nit comb.

So far there have been no reports of head lice resistance to the natural repellents such as Olea europaea and Eucalyptus globulus.

A product you can try is called nit-nurse.

It is available from

I hope this helps

You are right to want to stay away from chemical head lice treatments. No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison. If a lice treatment does not work once it is not going to work twice, in fact the lice that live will breed into a whole new batch that are resistant to that chemical.

Luckily there are quite a few totally natural remedies available that readily kill head lice.

Suffocation is an effective method where oil based products (i.e.: conditioner) are used to block the breathing holes and kill the live lice. The real trick though is to find natural products that will kill both the live lice and their eggs in one fast effective treatment.

Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem鈥檚 insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.

Feel free to check out the articles at the following site for more advice.

Good luck.
My parents always used vinegar.

I also used it for my children.

Pour some on child's head, rub it in well.Leave in for approximately 10-15 minutes.(if smell is bothersome, use a shower hat) Comb out any lice and nits.Wash hair as normal, might want to use a little cream rinse also cause the vinegar will dry out the hair sometimes.Any remaining smell will dissipate.I preferred this treatment as I know there are no side effects(except the oder lol) for the child.

Hope this helps.
children will go head lice when mixing with others.

The best thing to do is after washing their hair at the conditioner and use a nit comb.
